New Facility Planned by Lyttelton Port of Christchurch.  Lyttelton Port of Christchurch, in partnership with Independent Fisheries Limited, plans to  construct a new wharf and cool store that will breathe new life into the fishing industry at Lyttelton after the earthquakes.

Due to wharf damage following the September and February earthquakes, the 3,000 tonne capacity cool store situated on Z-Berth at the entrance to the Port of Lyttelton wharf needs a new location.

Last Tuesday representatives of the Lyttelton Harbour Information Centre, Lyttelton Community Association, Lyttelton Harbour Business Association and Project Lyttelton made joint submissions to the Community Board about the draft Master Plan for Lyttelton.  The key asks in the submissions were:
